shipping policy

Federal law requires a signature be obtained from an individual over the age of 21 for all wine shipments. Notes with a signature left for the delivery companies and PO box deliveries cannot be accepted as a replacement for an individual signing for the shipment. By placing your order, you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old and that the person to whom delivery will be made is at least 21 years old. When your wine is delivered, the person receiving delivery may be required to show identification.

After the third missed delivery attempt, orders will be held for up to approximately five business days, this time is dependent on your local Fed-Ex or UPS store. If not picked up, your shipment will be returned to our warehouse. Additional shipping charges may apply to reship an order.

We evaluate weather and temperatures prior to shipping orders. If an order is requested to ship and the shipping route is experiencing inclement weather, we will hold your order until the opportune shipping conditions.

Adelsheim is compliant with state laws, and currently ships wine directly to consumers in the following states:
AK, AL*, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI**, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, and WY.

We cannot ship to the following states: AR, DE, IN, MS, ND, NE, RI, SD, UT, VT and WV.

Please note:

• All Alabama orders must ship direct to an ABC store, and require the customer to supply us with the ABC store address. See attached form that needs to be emailed to the shipping department shipping@adelsheimvineyard.com

• Michigan law requires us to obtain proof that the person placing an order is at least 21 years of age. Please email the shipping department a copy of your photo identification to shipping@adelsheimvineyard.com

Shipping options:

• Orders placed by 2:00pm PST, Monday through Friday, can be shipped within two business days.* The package tracking number will be sent to the customer placing the order via email once the order has shipped (within 48-72 hours). 

  • *Delays can occur with high volumes of orders (i.e. holidays, promotions, and sales)

• Orders placed after 2:00pm PST, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday will be processed the following business day. Please allow 1-2 business days for order fulfillment placed Monday – Friday.

•  Our default shipping company is UPS.

•  Flat Rate Shipping: We offer flat rate $35 shipping in any quantity of bottles purchased. Flat Rate Shipping applies to orders being shipped within the continental US.

•  2 Day Shipping: The shipping rate for FedEx 2 Day Air is $70 per 12 bottle case with UPS. Fed-Ex is available upon request.

alaska & hawaii

• Orders to Alaska and Hawaii must ship 2-Day Air only.

• Expedited and ground shipping are not available to Alaska or Hawaii

• Our standard flat rate shipping, shipping discounts, or Club shipping offers do not apply when items ship to Alaska or Hawaii.

• Pricing:

  • 2-Day Air 1-6 Bottles | $70

  • 2-Day Air 7-12 Bottles | $100

  • Anything over 12- bottles, or Large Formats- 50% of the cost shipping.

other details regarding shipments:

• Adelsheim sells and ships wine only to persons 21 years of age or older. To place an order, you must provide your date of birth (the recipients date of birth if sending a gift). By placing an order with Adelsheim, you certify under the penalty of perjury that you and the recipient of this shipment are at least 21 years old.

• All wine deliveries legally require the signature of a person 21 years or older. Packages containing alcohol cannot be left unattended (ex., at a door or on a porch).

• When wine is delivered, the recipient will be required to show identification proving they are at least 21 years old.

• UPS/Fed-Ex makes three delivery attempts before the order is sent back to us. If we need to resend the package there will be an additional charge of $25 to re-ship. (Please note: UPS/Fed-Ex stores generally hold packages for up to a week before they re-route the package back to us).

• Acts of Nature: No refunds will be offered for damages or delays caused by acts of nature or inclement weather.

• We are unable to ship orders to individuals outside the United States.

• Shipping rates for 2-Day UPS is $70, and shipping rates for Fed-Ex 2 Day is $70.
