“We have worked with Grand Oak vineyard for many years now, dating back to our first single vineyard from this property in 2009 (at the time called Nicholas vineyard). Having such a long history with a site is enriching on many levels. There’s the mundane aspects of knowing just where to park in the vineyard to both shorten one’s walking distance and increase the likelihood of doggie pats. And of course there’s the more winemaker-y side of discovering what each block of the vineyard has to offer and continuously working to transform them into their best selves. It is fulfilling, to be sure. The doggie pats help.”
