At the gateway to Oregon’s prestigious Willamette Valley winegrowing region, just 35 minutes from Portland, you’ll discover wines produced by 23+ of Oregon’s most highly acclaimed wineries paired with food bites from 4 incredible restaurants during a fun afternoon at the Allison Inn and Spa. Additionally, wood-fired roman pizzas from Honey Pie & Little Olli will be cooked on-site and available to purchase. As the first winery in the Chehalem Mountains, we are thrilled to partner with our neighbors in an afternoon of Chehalem Mountains wine!
About the Chehalem Mountains AVA:
The contiguous land mass known as the Chehalem (pronounced “Sha-HAY-lum”) Mountains is home to an estimated 150 vineyards. With an average size of 12.5 acres, this patchwork of small, family-owned vineyards on varying soil types and elevations from 200 to well over 1000 feet above sea level is an exciting source for exquisite wines.
The Chehalem Mountains American Viticultural Area includes two nested wine growing regions gaining independent recognition for their wines - the distinctive Ribbon Ridge AVA and the Laurelwood District AVA. In due course, as vineyard plantings intensify and more wineries unfold, it is likely that other regions will emerge as AVAs within the boundaries of the larger Chehalem Mountains AVA.
