Argentina Wine Country with Modern Adventure

Journey to the Home of Malbec with Rob Alstrin

Argentina.png

A leg of lamb slow-roasts for hours in the Andean open air, and a freshly butchered steak sizzles. You tuck an alpaca blanket over your lap in the crisp night and raise a glass of Malbec to your lips. Next to you is one of the region’s most decorated winemakers, deep in conversation with her glass. Wine is as personal and alive as every individual with you. No Malbec you’ve tried compares with this experience in its birthplace. You look up and breathe in the view of the snowy Andean range before you. Tomorrow you’re climbing it, like a gaucho, on horseback…

Join us on this epic journey of Argentina’s wine country and its culture capital, Buenos Aires, alongside Rob Alstrin of Adelsheim Vineyard. Together we’ll explore the fruits of this mountainous wine region, settled by French vintners 150 years ago for its fertile soils and pure waters. We’ll take it all in, meeting the people behind Argentina’s top wineries and savoring intimate meals prepared by the region’s top chefs. Then we’ll take on the best of Buenos Aires, with walks of historic barrios, VIP visits of ornate theaters, intimate tango shows at local haunts, and a visit to the studio of iconic muralist Marino Santa María.

If you’ve ever enjoyed a glass of Malbec, you’ll love its homeland. If you have a taste for world-class wine, good food and vibrant culture, this trip is for you. Join us!

New Zealand: North & South Island with Modern Adventure

Travel with Winemaker, Gina Hennen!

Modern Adventure New Zealand map

You’re half a world away and the wine is flowing. Endless, sun-filled skies cast a golden glow over rows of vines and rugged New Zealand peaks. You coast by bicycle in short-sleeves, stopping at artisanal wineries to savor award-winning wines all the way to the coast. Then, you soar in a private helicopter to picnic in scenery plucked from the imagination of J.R.R. Tolkien. All your food is fresh and succulent and seasonal—oysters harvested from the bay, lamb or venison sourced from the rugged highlands. This is New Zealand at its most mesmerizing, delicious and unforgettable.

On this adventure, we’ll tap into a world of fantastic wine and connect with the people who make it. It’s also about getting into incredible scenery and experiencing one of the world’s most fascinating cultures. Any visitor to New Zealand tends to consider it the trip of a lifetime—we’ll go beyond that. We dine with leading vintners, explore Maori culture and experience the country’s very best. Join us—you’ll talk about this one for the rest of your life.

Magic in the Mountains!

A chehalem Mountains wine tasting

Join us where the magic begins, in the Chehalem Mountains!

Magic in the Mountains (web).jpg

At the gateway to Oregon’s prestigious Willamette Valley winegrowing region, just 35 minutes from Portland, you’ll discover wines produced by 23+ of Oregon’s most highly acclaimed wineries paired with food bites from 4 incredible restaurants during a fun afternoon at the Allison Inn and Spa. Additionally, wood-fired roman pizzas from Honey Pie & Little Olli will be cooked on-site and available to purchase. As the first winery in the Chehalem Mountains, we are thrilled to partner with our neighbors in an afternoon of Chehalem Mountains wine!

About the Chehalem Mountains AVA:

The contiguous land mass known as the Chehalem (pronounced “Sha-HAY-lum”) Mountains is home to an estimated 150 vineyards. With an average size of 12.5 acres, this patchwork of small, family-owned vineyards on varying soil types and elevations from 200 to well over 1000 feet above sea level is an exciting source for exquisite wines.

The Chehalem Mountains American Viticultural Area includes two nested wine growing regions gaining independent recognition for their wines - the distinctive Ribbon Ridge AVA and the Laurelwood District AVA. In due course, as vineyard plantings intensify and more wineries unfold, it is likely that other regions will emerge as AVAs within the boundaries of the larger Chehalem Mountains AVA.

Celebrating 30 years of ¡Salud!

¡Salud! services 30th anniversary overlay.png

We are honored to contribute to the 2021 Summertime ¡Salud! E-Auction, which raises funds to provide critical healthcare services and outreach to Oregon vineyard workers and their families. This year, ¡Salud! celebrates 30 years of providing healthcare services to Oregon vineyard workers and their families. As a part of the 2021 ¡Salud! Vintners Circle, we are proud to donate to this important cause.

Bidding for these once-in-a-lifetime offerings is open July 13-15, and complimentary bidder registration is open now: https://bit.ly/Salud2021BidderRegistration.

Salud2021_logo_green-01.png

In the face of COVID-19 in 2020, ¡Salud! quickly pivoted its critical outreach and healthcare clinics, focusing on COVID-19 screenings, treatment, vaccinations (2021), education, and support for vineyard workers across the state of Oregon. Your support of this critical cause ensures our ability to hold future clinics to help the hardest workers in our industry. Without our vineyard workers, we would not be able to craft the wines you love and enjoy.

We invite you to join us for this year’s Summer ¡Salud! E-Auction, which will be held entirely online July 13-15th. Bid on 12-bottle cases of 2020 ¡Salud! Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Cuvées, ¡Salud! Sparkling Wines, and Library Pinot Noirs, available from 30 wineries. Only ONE CASE from each Vintners Circle Member Winery will be up for bid in July. Bid on your favorite wines, as well as a selection of Willamette Valley getaway packages.

About ¡Salud!

¡Salud! means accessible, affordable healthcare for vineyard workers and their families. Founded in 1992 by a group of wineries and physicians, ¡Salud! has endeavored for 30 years to break down the barriers to healthcare with outreach, education and healthcare services delivered directly to the worksite.

We are bilingual, bicultural care focused on connecting clients to resources, and providing solutions to work for the individual. Thanks to partnership with other healthcare organizations, ¡Salud! is able to deliver $3 of care for every $1 invested. ¡Salud! is a project of OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center (formerly Tuality Healthcare), and is supported 100% by philanthropy.

For 30 years, ¡Salud! The Oregon Pinot Noir Auction has been the only opportunity to access Oregon's most exclusive cuvées, straight from the winemakers who produce them.

RESCHEDULED: Club Adelsheim Pick Up Party

We are in the midst of our first club shipment of 2020 and we are always thrilled to share the club release weekends with you all. In light of recent developments around COVID-19 we feel a social responsibility to do our part in keeping our community safe. For the health and well-being of our guests and team, we have made the following decisions:

  • Our tasting room will be closed starting March 13th as we continue to monitor the ever evolving situation. There is no one size fits all approach to this and based on the current state we feel this is the best decision for Adelsheim and the community we serve.

  • Our club party this weekend has been rescheduled, and will roll it into our May club party on May 16-17.

HOW DO I GET MY WINE?
We want to make sure you get your wine so here are the options we have for you:

  • Shipping: Your wine is still on its way to you! During this time, shipping will be included on all new orders as well.

  • Will Call members: If you were originally planning to pick up your wine from the Tasting Room, please contact us to have your order shipped to you. We are also happy to hold your order until we re-open.

We hope that you will understand as we all navigate this uncharted territory. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to raising a glass with you soon!

Drink It Now! Kick-Off Party

Drink It Now

boulder-tasting5.jpg

As we prep for our 50th anniversary celebration, Adelsheim is embarking on the ultimate year-long vertical with Founder, David Adelsheim and Winemaker, Gina Hennen! We are venturing deep into our considerable library to discover the very best single vineyard wine we've ever made, and which vintage is showing at its apex, begging us all to drink it now.

Every 2 months Founder, David Adelsheim and Winemaker, Gina Hennen will spread out decades worth of Oregon Pinot at the dining table. Their goal is simple: determine the best wines ever made from each of our 5 estate vineyards.

On February 7th, we will open our considerable library, courtesy of our owners, Jack and Lynn Loacker and taste through some of the best vintages ever produced from each of our single vineyards, some going back decades.  Crown Paella will be cooking up a delicious dinner to complement the incredible array of wines, under the winter night sky. This will be a memorable evening for collectors and wine fans alike!
